Maisri Mackenzie

She might be small but she's loud and powerful. -NatidredddA current work in progress. Will evolve and change over time.
A halfling (Midlander > Highlander) from the Coerthean Highlands, out to take the place of the son her father never sired. Looking to take on the family mantle, and go home a proud and capable woman when she sees fit. She's modeled after a Scottish lass that is pushing through a Medieval mans world.

This part is intentionally sparse partly so as not to info dump, partly because Maisri talks about herself relatively little. Want to know more? Try some RP! At the moment, there's character notes in the about tab (placed here for now as well) that gives quite a bit of detail. At the moment, I'm debating what should be shared, and what should not. I'm hoping to have this done soon, as I'm excited to write Maisri with others in longer form plots. She's made for adventuring and campaigning, being a spirited, fiery little shit that adds to a story and I'm hoping she'll take someone's heart as she has mine. Maisri Mackenzie - Huyr, Highlander / Midlander mix, takes after Midlander mother.
Height: 5'1" / 157cm
Weight: Around 90-110 ponz, she ain't gunna let you know.
From: Northern Coerthas Highlands.
Skin color: Pale, rosy with light freckles.
Eye color: Forest green.
Hair Color: Fiery orange/red.

Features:
The young Midlander keeps herself modestly dressed, but underneath she's taut muscle on her thin frame. All wrapped in a shapely package. She's a fiery red mane that is just as unruly as the lands and people she hails from. Green eyes as deep and bright as the forests that used to spread across the vast Coerthean plains before the calamity that brought the frosts and ice. She's rainwater perfuming her hair, the gentle lit of her laugh floating on the wind. She isn't the beauty that ballads are sung after, but still a homely woman can turn a head or two. If one took a moment to know her, or caught her in the right light they’d lose themselves in the beauty that seemed to seep from within.

Character notes:
While not fully literate, Maisri makes due. She's capable enough with a blade, and has some knowledge in conjury. At this time, it's only in the healing arts. She's a stubborn lass, and has a distinct Highland (Scottish) accent. She's got a violent streak, but can also show remarkable kindness. Think a tomboy with a short temper that secretly likes girly things.

Personality:
I usually describe her as a wild Scottish lass, one that goes out of her way to antagonize others because she's bored. A true tsundere character, because while she's a prickly little cactus she also is inherently one of the most caring of my characters. It's covered with her foul mouth, only people who have been around her for a bit really know what a big softy she is. She's a wild reddish-orange mane of hair, talks big and is over-confident. And, can back it up too. The wild child that could and did, and now brags about it relentlessly. She is constantly looking for some type of fight or argument. At first is malicious, later on it’s how she shows she cares.In her down time in taverns and the like, she's a bardic-style approach if she's not looking to be a brat. She sings, dances and tells stories of her people and adventures. She's got that natural charisma to do so, I use Natidread as a voice claim linked above. Sees herself as a sort of protector, sword and board. Has conjury abilities. She's born and bred from the highlands, no matter her mothers blood Maisri ...pushes through? Brain farted here.Secondary job (optional, not needed):
Carpentry, light weaving and some leatherworking. Has some knowledge in botany, farming and fishing too of course. Also, sometimes trades storytelling or her singing for goods. She's a natural born entertainer with slow and sorrowful ballads to fast and fun bits to liven up any space! Her accent has an exotic flare, and I'd love if you take a look to the link above for her singing voice! (And, an AMAZING singer too!)Hobbies, does not need to be jobs:
Likes to sing, cook (not the greatest at it), and studies flowers. She wants a large flower garden when she settles down one day, and takes notes on all flora and fauna in the areas and where they grow best. Maisri has an illustrated book with her chicken-scratch notes on it. Being somewhat illiterate, it makes sense to her at least!Something they enjoy doing:
She loves to tell stories and tales of her people. Of the times before the frost, and the hard times after. Of the clans achievements, how they were behemoth hunters before her time. She also plays the lute mainly, or other generic stringed instruments.1-2 personality traits:
Witty, sly, is a right brat if she can be. Smart, and fast to pick up on things. She's also very kind, and will put her own life on the line for another, regardless of wanting to live herself. She's a bright, sunny and sweet young woman... so long as there isn't anything abrasive to set off that temper of hers.Faults:
She's oh-so stubborn! Mai HATES leaving things unfinished. She likes being right, and sometimes can take that too far. Can be brash and indifferent at times. Has all the bad traits of a tsundere character.Something they dislike:
-Maisri dislikes and distrusts Ishguardians, and all Elzen for that matter. They're vile, and have done horrible things. Even if those horrible things are brought to light, the person could still be held in a good light and considered honorable. This is a terrifying concept. (Note views and issues before the end of Heavensward made her heavily biased.)
-She also doesn't like the texture of mushrooms, but will eat them if chopped up fine. She thinks all Lalafells are out to swindle her from all her coin, and loves blueberries but hate how they stain her tongue.
-She also hates being called short.Short term goal:
Maisri isn't fully literate, and wishes to change that. She also wants to one day soon own a mount.Long term goal:
Wishes to have a house on the ridge overlooking the lands of her people. Have a large flower garden across the front lawn, and vegetables and some fruit trees in the back weather allowing. If she can't in Coerthas, she wishes to be close enough to home. Maisri dreams of being a mother, a wife, and a capable part of a thick and close community like back home. But first, she wishes to prove herself capable in all the ways her father had. A tradition for every first born son... the son that he'd never had. Maisri wishes to take on this tradition.

Hello there! I've been roleplaying for nearly two decades and in FFXIV since Heavensward, going from other games to tabletop campaigns. I've a love for creative writing, and am excited to see where the story can take us!I prefer RP in-game, but I may be willing to write via Discord if a scene is in a place not easily represented in-game, involves a significant number of NPCs, is a GM'd plotline event, etc..

In order to help long term narratives flourish, I like to take the extra time and lay out some foundation for a first time role-play. Not necessary but I adore having the chance to set everything up smoothly. A little prep goes a long way!I like to write long term story lines that involve my character growing and gaining connections with other characters. Regardless of the relationship she gains, Maisri is a fictional character and not a representation of myself.Maisri is one my favorite characters and as such I would not be interested in any narratives that involve her being killed or permanently disfigured. I enjoy writing many different genres with her. Mystery, Travel, Adventure, and Romance just to name a few.
